Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has announced that the government will not impose any penalties for the next three months on individuals or institutions registering Waqf Board properties late on the UMEED Portal.
According to the Minister, although the official deadline has not been extended, the Centre has provided a 3-month penalty-free relaxation period so that Mutawallis and Waqf institutions can complete their pending registrations without fear of fines or strict action.
The government clarified that this relief is aimed at easing pressure on Waqf bodies and ensuring smooth digital registration of all properties. After the three-month window, regular legal provisions will apply.
