₹4.05 Crore Hawala Cash Seized; Key Accused Arrested by Bowenpally Police

The Bowenpally Police have arrested two prime accused involved in a major hawala racket, recovering ₹4.05 crore in illegal cash transportation linked to Cr. No. 665/2024 under Sections 316(2) and 318(4) BNS.

Prakash Motibhai Prajapathi, 30 years

Pragnesh Keerthibai Prajapathi, 28 years


Action Taken

Acting on credible information, police intercepted the accused in Addakal PS limits, Mahabubnagar, while they were travelling in a Hyundai Creta (MH 49 CL 96).

During interrogation, the duo confessed to:

Cheating a complainant of ₹50 lakh in a cash–RTGS fraud (August 2024).

Illegally transporting ₹4.05 crore hawala money from Nagpur to Bengaluru.


The entire seized cash has been taken under panchanama and is currently being verified for source and ownership.


Public Advisory

Authorities have warned citizens against engaging in illegal RTGS transactions, hawala dealings, or easy-money schemes, urging the public to report any suspicious financial activity to the nearest police station.
